FIRST VISIT

The first visit is dedicated to consultation, examination, and initial discussion of the patient's needs and expectations. The starting point for considering the orthodontic treatment plan is to obtain a complete set of diagnostic tests: photographs of the teeth and face, as well as digital X-ray images, such as a cephalogram (side view X-ray of the head), OPG (panoramic dental X-ray), or possibly CBCT. Then, dental impressions or intraoral scans are taken. The collected documentation is input into a specialized orthodontic software and thoroughly analyzed, enabling the preparation of an individualized treatment plan.
SECOND VISIT
During this visit, we discuss the treatment plan with the patient, show photographic images, and present an analysis of the X-ray images. All details are described meticulously: the course of treatment step by step, the expected duration of therapy, and precise costs. Our goal is to provide not only effective but also financially comfortable treatment – without any unforeseen additional expenses. The treatment plan is provided to the patient in written form.
Before commencing orthodontic procedures, every patient is referred to their dentist and undergoes a hygiene appointment. If any dental cavities are detected during the examination, they must be treated before the braces are installed.
Additionally, there is a meeting with a certified orthodontic hygienist, who prepares the teeth for the installation of fixed braces and provides detailed instructions on oral hygiene. During this visit, ultrasonic scaling, sandblasting, fluoridation, and polishing are performed. This appointment is mandatory for every patient because, as a team, we believe that maintaining dental health and educating patients about oral hygiene are fundamental to our practice.
Sometimes, the treatment plan and professional cleaning are divided into two separate visits.

THIRD VISIT

At this stage, the orthodontist installs the fixed braces. During this visit, patients receive all the recommendations in written form.
SUBSEQUENT
Orthodontic treatment involves regular follow-up visits. These visits are essential for making adjustments to the appliance components, without which progress in the treatment would not be possible. Activation visits take place every 3-8 weeks, depending on the chosen appliance and the stage of orthodontic treatment. Every few months, the doctor takes photographic documentation, discusses the achieved results, and plans further actions. Dental hygiene visits with the hygienist are recommended at least twice a year.
TREATMENT COMPLETION
During the visit, which lasts about 1.5 hours, the dental hygienist/doctor removes the fixed braces, professionally cleans the teeth, and creates detailed documentation of the achieved outcome. At this point, we begin the retentive phase of treatment.
RETENTION THERAPY
After the active orthodontic treatment period with fixed braces, the retention phase follows, which is tailored individually for each patient. Removable and/or fixed retainers are made. The purpose of retention therapy is to maintain the achieved results. Without this phase, teeth could partially revert to their previous positions. In the retention phase, the first follow-up visit takes place after 7 days from removing the braces, the second after 6 months, and subsequent visits every 6 months. If there is a lack of retention visits, the doctor cannot take responsibility for any subsequent malocclusions that may occur.
