Sometimes orthodontic treatment requires additional necessary procedures to achieve the desired results. At Kazimierczak Orthodontics and Radiology, we operate in an interdisciplinary manner, and all such procedures are performed on-site, in our clinic.

PLACEMENT OF ORTHODONTIC MICROIMPLANTS
During orthodontic therapy, there may be a need to introduce additional anchorage points into the bone, called microimplants, which enable effective and precise movement of specific teeth or groups of teeth without putting unnecessary strain on the remaining teeth in the arch. They are also used in cases of missing teeth, as without them, the treatment would not be possible at all. Microimplants are inserted temporarily, only for the duration of the orthodontic treatment. The surgeon places them in the bone during a short procedure under local anesthesia. They are most often painlessly removed by the orthodontist during an activation visit.
SURGICAL EXPOSURE OF IMPACTED TEETH
Impacted teeth are those that have not erupted at the appropriate time and still remain below the surface of the bone and/or gums. The cause of this condition may be the improper direction of tooth eruption, insufficient space in the arch, or childhood trauma. The procedure performed by the surgeon involves exposing the impacted tooth and attaching an orthodontic bracket to its surface, which allows the tooth to be moved to the correct position.
CORTICOTOMY - SURGICAL ASSISTANCE FOR ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
Corticotomy is performed to facilitate tooth movement during specific orthodontic procedures. It is a surgical procedure that can only be done in adults and after the placement of fixed braces. During the surgery, the surgeon vertically incises the bone using piezoelectric surgery, which significantly mobilizes it for remodeling.
SOFT TISSUE AUGMENTATION
In cases where the patient's teeth are covered with a thin layer of bone and gum before orthodontic treatment, a procedure to thicken the gum tissue must be performed. This allows for safe tooth movement in that area during the therapy.
